A Moment of Calm

In Singapore yesterday, our Prime Minister announced that the current circuit breaker measures would be extended until 1st June.

The Yoga School was founded in 2016 to share the benefits of yoga with as many as possible. While there are many different styles of yoga – hatha, vinyasa and so on… not many know that there are eight limbs of yoga according to the Yoga Sutras of Patañjali, compiled approximately 1,620 years ago. The most important of these limbs are the yamas and niyamas, without which there is no yoga.

One of the most famous aphorisms states:

yogaś citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ

which can be loosely translated as “yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the conscious mind”.

As we traverse this unprecedented period, when cities like New York, London and Paris are quiet, many of us are adjusting to the new rhythm. Through this, The Yoga School team will continue to offer classes that will give you a moment to yourself – a moment of calm to rebalance and recharge.

Our yoga and Pilates classes are available on Zoom in May, with classes priced at

$15 per class

If you have an existing package with us, your package will be extended for the period that The Yoga School is closed. Existing members with unlimited monthly packages will have unlimited access to our Zoom classes to thank you for your continued support.

Please email our Guest Relations Team ( to book our Zoom classes.

Finally, we will soon have 13 videos with our teachers on our YouTube channel that you can mix and match according to your needs each day.

Thank you for practising kindness this month – with yourself and with those around you.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Yoga School!
