If we do not keep our minds peaceful, how can the world be peaceful?
Lay Peng started yoga while she was a stay-at-home mom. She joined the first batch of facilitators in Singapore to receive the full teaching certification from Yogakids International founder Marsha Wenig in 2004. She started teaching yoga to her own children and in schools.
She was later trained by Master Sivaram in the Sivananda Yoga tradition. The 5 points of yoga which is also the core teachings of Sivananda Yoga has always been her guidelines for physical and mental health – Proper Exercise, Proper Breathing, Proper Relaxation, Proper Diet and Positive Thinking and Meditation.
Her other certifications include “Yin Yoga, TCM and Anatomy Teacher Training” by Jo Phee (2013), “Yoga for the Special Child” by Sonia Sumar (2007), “Yin Yoga” by Yoga In Asia and Paul Grilley (2008 & 2009), “Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Yoga” by Dr Jean Byrne from Australia (2009). Her continual educations include attending yoga workshops by AG Mohan, Elsie Miller, Judy Krupp, Martin Kirk, Andrei Ram, Jawahar Bangera, Simon Low, Desiree Rumbaugh, Ross Rayburn, Paul Grilley, Sarah Powers, and Cyndi Lee.
The diverse exposures have given her the opportunity to experience the beauties of several traditions and this has helped to transform her current style of teachings with emphasis on alignment, mind-body connection, breath works and relaxation.
